To the Firefighters of New York City:

Watching the events as they unfolded these past days: the heartbreak, the devastation, and the tragic loss of life; I felt the need to take a moment and write to you. As I sat in my office in Naperville, IL on Tuesday, September 11, 2001, life as I knew it, changed forever.

I am the daughter of a former Firefighter from Dubuque, IA. I spent my childhood at a fire station. My memories of the Firemen there, the pole they used from the 2nd floor to the garage, and my love of the fire engines and all of the equipment we used to play with; warm me.

You are my HEROES. What you and your fellow Brothers have endured since September 11, 2001 is beyond anything I will ever know or experience. Your dedication to life and to the duty you are sworn to serve as Firefighters is beyond anything I will ever comprehend.

I THANK YOU for the battle you fight ever day. I THANK your families for the support they give to you. For allowing you and understanding the job you need to do. I BLESS you for the dedication and strength you have shown to the families that have lost so much, words will never be enough.

God BLESS you for who you are. May God PROTECT you for what you mean to the nation. For those Firefighters we’ve lost this week, to those often forgotten. You are our unsung HEROES.

Oh, my God....your movie...…is incredible!! Of all the 9/11 flash movies I’ve seen, this one is the best! I found it interesting that you used the same music as was in the opening and closing of the movie “Crimson Tide.” Any specific reason, or were you even aware of it? I guess I sum up my feelings about 9/11 this way -

In the movie “Tora, Tora, Tora!” After Admiral Yamamoto hears that Pearl Harbor was attacked before the Japanese declaration of war was delivered, he says, “I fear all we have done is to awaken a sleeping giant, and fill him with a terrible resolve.” Yamamoto never really said this, but the movie was so powerful that it is just attributed to him. Well, that’s what happened on 9/11/01. All Al-Qaeda has done is to awaken a sleeping giant, and once again, fill him with a terrible resolve.
